Power Converter Characteristics
Operation Responsibles
Power Converter ArchitectureThe D31 is a voltage booster called a "Diode module". It is used in North experimental area to increase the output voltage of R31 power converters. This Diode module is composed of one part: The Power part contains the transformer, the Main Circuit Breaker, the diode bridges and auxiliary circuitry. North Area power converter with Diode architecture Power PartThe transformer has one primary delta winding and the two transformer secondary windings are delta and star connection. The secondaries each feeds a 3 phases diode bridge assembly A and B.
Power Part simplified Architecture / Topology .pdf Control & Regulation PartThe control of the external Diode Module is from the Power Converter. Control for turning ON of the MCB and required interlock signals in the diode Module are routed internally through terminal strips TSA/TSD or through SK31/SK32 connectors if the power converter and the Diode module are apart . The Diode Module MCB is switched on 2-3 seconds after the Power Converter. Machine InstallationNumber of D31 power converters installed in North area:
