The D21 is a voltage booster called a "Diode module". It is used in North experimental area to increase the output voltage of a R12, R21 or R22 power converter.
This Diode module is composed of one part:
The Power part contains the transformer, the Main Circuit Breaker, the diode bridges and auxiliary circuitry.
North Area power converter with Diode architecture
The transformer has one primary delta winding and the two transformer secondary windings are delta and star connection.
The secondaries each feeds a 3 phases diode bridge assembly A and B.

The control of the external Diode Module is from the Power Converter. Control for turning ON of the MCB and required interlock signals in the diode Module are routed through SK114 cable. The Diode Module MCB is switched on 2-3 seconds after the Power Converter.
